A City in Frames is ready for its permanent digital home—a place where Bradford’s neighbourhood stories burst off the screen in a bold, vibrant design that feels as alive as the streets themselves. The site must celebrate local residents first and foremost, guiding them through an interactive gallery that can be browsed by neighbourhood, theme or individual photographer. Each image will sit alongside its title and a short personal story so that visitors can jump seamlessly between photographs, short texts and our 15-minute community documentary.
Core experience
• Visually driven landing page that immediately showcases participant photos in an ever-changing mosaic.
• Filterable gallery (neighbourhood / theme / photographer) with light-box viewing, caption space and social-sharing hooks.
• Dedicated pages for selected participant profiles and the “Bradford Through Our Eyes” curated collection.
• Embedded documentary video and an exhibitions section for current and future show dates.
• Searchable digital archive for long-term preservation, built on an accessible CMS so our small team can upload new images, edit captions and add events without touching code.
• Full responsiveness, WCAG-compliant colour contrast and large-type options to keep the site inclusive.
What you’ll hand over
1. Complete front-end and back-end build (framework/CMS of your choice, provided it is open-source and easy for non-technical staff to manage).
2. Custom gallery and filter functionality.
3. Page templates for profiles, exhibitions and static content.
4. Basic onboarding guide plus one live hand-over session.
