Project Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer (SolidWorks Expert) to finalize the design of an automated pizza vending kiosk (Project: Master Pizza Systems).
The project has completed Phase 3 (Spatial Configuration & Volumetric Review). We have a Master Layout (v1.6) defining the internal architecture, envelopes, and clearances. We now need a "Master of CAD" to transform these spatial envelopes into a fully engineered, fabrication-ready machine.
Your Task:
You will take over the existing SolidWorks assembly and convert "Space Claim Envelopes" into detailed, functional mechanical parts. You must ensure the design is optimized for CNC laser cutting, bending, and assembly by our fabrication partner.
Scope of Work:
Detailed Mechanical Engineering: Convert conceptual envelopes into functional assemblies (motor mounts, brackets, structural frames).
Kinematics & Drive Train: Finalize the selection of actuators (Steppers/Servos), belts, pulleys, and linear guides. Perform torque/load calculations.
Design for Manufacturing (DFM): Generate 2D production drawings (PDF/DXF) with flat patterns, bend deductions, and proper tolerances (ISO 2768).
Thermal Management: Finalize the engineering of the 100mm thermal barrier between the Cold Zone (+2°C) and the Oven Zone (High Temp).
Cable Management: Integrate drag chains (E-chains) and cable routing for 3-axis motion.
Full Bill of Materials (BOM): Create a categorized BOM including all COTS parts (fasteners, bearings, motors) with part numbers.
Assembly Documentation: Provide exploded views and basic assembly instructions for the fabrication team.
Requirements:
Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks (Mandatory).
Proven experience in Machine Design or Robotics.
Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication and CNC processes.
Ability to work with existing layout constraints and optimize for reliability.
Clear communication and ability to provide a structured "Release for Manufacturing" (RFM) package.
Deliverables:
Complete, error-free SolidWorks Assembly (Pack-and-Go).
Full set of 2D Manufacturing Drawings (DXF/PDF).
Comprehensive Excel BOM.
